About Us

A Christ-centered co-op built to support homeschooling families.

Zion Lutheran Homeschool Co-op exists to come alongside families with community, structure, shared learning, and faithful encouragement while honoring parents as the primary educators of their children.

Who We Are

Support for the homeschool calling, not a replacement for it.

Zion Lutheran Homeschool Co-op is a homeschool support program connected to Zion Lutheran Church in Lodi, California. We provide community, classes, encouragement, and shared learning opportunities for families who want the freedom and responsibility of homeschooling without the isolation of doing it alone.

The co-op is intentionally parent-honoring. Parents remain the primary educators of their children, and the co-op exists to support, encourage, and strengthen the work families are already doing at home.

Mission

Why We Exist

To come alongside homeschooling families by providing a welcoming, collaborative space where students can grow academically, build meaningful relationships, and be shaped through a community grounded in faith and care.

Vision

What We Hope To See

To see a vibrant, life-giving learning community where students regularly gather - moving in and out of engaging classes, shared teaching, electives, and social experiences - supported by parents and educators working together to cultivate both learning and connection.

What Makes The Co-op Distinct

Faithful, practical, and built around families.

The co-op is designed to give homeschooling families meaningful support while preserving the parent-directed character of home education.

Christ-Centered Community

Faith shapes our learning, relationships, service, discipline, and shared purpose.

Parents as Primary Educators

The co-op supports families without replacing the responsibility and calling of parents.

Shared Learning

Students gather for classes, enrichment, electives, and learning experiences that complement home education.

Meaningful Relationships

Families find encouragement, friendship, and a regular rhythm of Christian community.

Parent Partnership

A co-op is something families build together.

Parent participation is not simply a requirement; it is part of what makes a co-op different. Families serve together so that the community remains personal, affordable, connected, and well supported.

Every family contributes through regular volunteer service, helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

Faith Identity

Rooted in Scripture and the faithful confession of the Church.

We are committed to teaching and operating in accordance with Holy Scripture and the faithful doctrinal confession of the Church, as upheld by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We strive to equip every child and parent to proclaim what they believe, and why they believe it.

Important Clarification

We are a homeschool support program.

Zion Lutheran Homeschool Co-op does not operate as an umbrella school, independent school, or substitute for each family's legal responsibilities under California law. Families remain responsible for complying with California homeschool requirements, including any filings, records, curriculum decisions, or legal obligations that apply to their homeschool.
